Benjamín Aceval is a town in the Presidente Hayes department of Paraguay. The city is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Benjamín Aceval.

It is named after the Paraguayan diplomat who took documents related to the Chaco Boreal dispute with Argentina to United States President Rutherford B. Hayes, right after the War of the Triple Alliance. Thereafter in arbitration, Hayes awarded the region to Paraguay.
The temperature in summer reaches 44°C(112 F). In winter drops to 0°C(32 F). The average is 26°C(78 F).
Benjamin Aceval has 16,248 inhabitants in total, of which 8,076 are men and 8,171 women, according to estimates by the Directorate General of Statistics, Census and Surveys.
It is the district with more farming in the department, with extensive sweet cane (caña dulce) plantations. It's the only district that owns the sugar ingenuity of Chaco, which produces organic sugar. Emphasis is placed on the manufacture of honey cane.
In addition, there are poultry and dairy industries. The dairy factory produces pasteurized milk, yogurt, fresh milk, cheese and dairy products. Chickens at the farm are bred especially for consumption in the capital market.
A sawmill located in the zone exports its timber to Europe.
The hills surrounding the area are of great attraction for tourists.
The old buildings of the city, the Municipality, the Bishopric and the sugar factory, Censi y Pirotta, can be visited.
The patronal feast is celebrated on August 30, the day of Santa Rosa de Lima, patron saint of Benjamin Aceval. On December 8, in the Cerrito company, they celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
In the Mcal. Estigarribia Plaza there is a tajy cultivated by himself, on August 30, 1940, a week before his death.
The old sugar factory, from around the year 1800, is very interesting to be visited by tourists. The natives Toba Qom, based on the company Cerrito, engage in crafts in vegetable fibers, produce bags, backpacks, belts, among other objects, also handicrafts in mud. The exhibition of handicrafts is 2 km from the urban center of Benjamin Aceval.
Founded on April 30, 1859. The first settlers of the place were foreigners who arrived in Villa Hayes. First called "Monte Sociedad" (Monte Society), in 1940 this district was created by Act 436 of October 6. Through the award, Hayes is recovered thanks to the President Rutherford B. Hayes, who ruled in favor of Paraguay in the War of the Triple Alliance. It stresses the participation of diplomatic Benjamin Aceval, who transported the documents to Hayes.
Benjamin Aceval has two companies: Cerrito and Costa.
In September there is a festival where folk art forms are prepared by students of the institution. There is typical food, and festivities are held countryside. Students offer Latin American dances in shows of brotherhood among peoples.
Located 42 km from Asunción, the city is accessed by Route IX "Carlos Antonio López" or "Transchaco Route".
The only way to get around if you do not own a car is to take the only bus through town called "La Chaqueña".
